COMPLETION OF GEO-TECHNICAL ASSESSMENTS

UFWA is pleased to advise that the geotechnical investigation works at the Berrybank wind farm project proposal were completed on Friday 3 May 2013. Our consultants GHD Engineering completed their investigations according to our revised timetable, which was delayed from October to March following consultation with our stakeholder landowners (to minimize impact on their cropping activity in early 2013). The results of this testing and survey work will be used to commence the Detailed Design, and the Detailed Design will determine the final layout of the project.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE

UFWA has a Community Engagement Strategy for the Berrybank wind farm, and an important part of our strategy is a Community Engagement Committee. Union Fenosa Wind Australia is pleased to announce that it is seeking nominations from local community members to represent the community on the Berrybank Wind Farm Community Engagement Committee (CEC).

The purpose of the CEC is to provide a forum for regular, open discussion between representatives of Union Fenosa, the community, the Golden Plains Shire and Corangamite Shire councils, and other stakeholders about issues relating to the development of the wind farm, and to be a forum for ongoing communication with the community during the construction and operation phases of the wind farm. We are encouraging prospective community representative nominees to contact us.

CONDITIONS ON APPROVAL

The Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) put various conditions on our Planning Permit No 20092821 to proceed with construction of the Berrybank wind farm, and we are pleased to announce that we lodged documentation addressing these approvals on 6 May 2013, and that a meeting was held with the DPCD to discuss the Berrybank project, and the conditions on the Planning Permit, on 8 May 2013.
